November Newsletter

Wednesday Nights

How do you know if your friends are actually good friends? How do you know if your "friends" are willing to commit to you, surrender for you, and take care of you when you really need them? How do you know they won't just worry about themselves and abandon you? Better yet ... how do you know you're not one of those friends?

This four week series will walk through what it means to be a good friend by highlighting four key things good friends will stop their friends from doing. We'll talk about stopping our friends from being fake, helping friends when they are "in a funk," making sure our friends are connected to God, and helping our friends reach their potential.

The point of this series is to help students identify positive influences in their lives, to help them be cautious of negative influences, and to help them be more aware of who they are and how they treat those around them. In essence, it will help them build good and meaningful friendships by helping them be Christ like in their relationships with others.

I encourage parents to continue these conversations at home – more information is available to assist parents in doing so, just ask Pastor Tyler.

Small Group

The YG Small Group meets in the youth room at 6:00 each Sunday night. Most nights we will stay in the youth building during the hour – some nights we will have an extended time and go on excursions (walk around the neighborhood, Deer Creek, etc.). Advance notice will be given to parents.

Sunday Morning

This is a sermon series built around villains of the Bible. We spend so much time with the heroes of the Bible, but there is actually a lot we can learn from the villains, as well. This series includes five teaching outlines and manuscripts. Each week focuses on a different villain or group of villains: (1) Satan, (2) Nebuchadnezzar, (3) the Pharisees, (4) Judas, and (5) the Roman Emperors.
